THE TOUR TRIPS THAT OFFERED AROUND MBARAMO WARD IN LUSHOTO

This tour takes you back in time and you will discover what remains of the German colonial era in Lushoto since 1890 - 1899. Which was then known as Wilhelmsthal. The German tried to develop the area and worked together with the local people. You can still find a number of old buildings which remained from this colonial period.

This tour begins with uphill walk from Lushoto to the royal village of Mbaramo and downhill from Mnazi to the royal village of Mbaramo, where you learn about the cultural history of the traditional ruling clan, the Kilindi. From Mbaramo you will see a beautiful view  over Mount Kilimanjaro and Taita mountains in Kenya, Mnazi plains and Mkomazi National Park. You will proceed to  lush Shagayu rain forest, home to black and white Columbus among of the animals which found in order primate. On the way back to Lushoto passes via an old German School and  Mlalo ward.

MBARAMO MARKET TOUR: 1-2Hrs

We walk a long the cliffs to the site of the last home of the kiing of the Wasambaa people. His name ZUMBE ABDALA-MZANGAZE in 1914. The rain make chief was the last of the Kilindi dynast, ruling this part of the Usambara's until 1962 when Tanzania gained political independence. Listen to folklore from the elders who have lived their lives in and around Mbaramo villagwe.

Mnazi butter trade market departing from Mbaramo to Mnazi walking through sisal plantations on the way to Mnazi where butter take place between Sambaa and Maasai societies, Sambaa gives banana and Masai exchanges by milk(Yogurt) which is yet remain in Mnazi market.

Hike from  Mbaramo   to   Mnazi   farm  for a  picnic  in their  beautiful  garden  surrounded   by  butterflies   and  chorus  of  birds.  A long  the  way ,  trace  back  in  colonial  era.

The  Punishment are  used  by  king  of  Wasambaa  to  winchers  who  pushed down  and  then  die  as  hit  on  stone  however  enjoy  wonderful  views   of  Maasai  Plain.  Learn  about   the  people  of  the  Usambara  mountains  such  as  the  Pare  and  Sambaa   including   flying  winch   who  escaping   king  punishment .

It  is  iron  tools  industries  that   trace  back  in  human  cradle   whereby  hoe, spear  and knife  are  still  made .

This  is an  area  where  witch  doctors  used  for  pleasing  their  natural  gods.  Also women  when passing  this  place  have  to  pour   some  water  if  they  carried  a   bucket  of  water   and  from   six   o’clock  in the  evening  it  advised   not   to pass   the  area  with  any  luggage  carried  on  head.

Is  a  kind   of  Sambaa  traditional  dance  used   by  the  traditional  witch  doctors  for  the  aims  of  being  given   future ,  present   and  ongoing  event  around   the  society,  family  like  disease.

Is  a  Sambaa   word  which  means  beating  dramma,   was  a  place  used  as  a  point  of  watching  the  enemies  where   are  they  coming  from  during  the  first   world  war  of  1914 -1918  and  informing   the  villagers  by using  this  kind  of  dramming  in  order  to  prepare  themselves  against the  enemies.

 

Generally  this  area  is  rich  of  views   since  when  you  get  there you  can  see  various  areas  like  Tsaval  in Kenya ,  Mkombozi  National  park,  Umba  River  looks  like  green  snake,  Mlalo,  Mlola,Mghwalo,  Lunguza ,  kivingo,  Kammba,  Mnazi  sisal  plantation  Mtae  and  Shagayu   natural  forest.

Shagayu  forest  is a  very    old  natural  cloud  forest ,  more  untouched   than  other  forest  near  crowded  Lushoto .  Besides  of the  important  value   for  its   incredible  biodiversity , the  forest  is  a  valued  water  catchment area  f or  pure drinking  water  used  by the  surrounding  villages .You  will  find    very  old  huge   trees  and  wide  variety  of  plants and  small  animals.

We  will  stop  at  Kideghe  falls  for  a  picnic, where  you!! have  some time  to  relax  amid  towering  ferns  and  experience  the  jungle .  This   full –day  trek  takes  you  to the  heart  of the  jungle  so you  can  experience  the magnificence   of its  sheer  untouched  beauty.
